Philosophy of Hope IV: Antifragility

When we feel loved, secure, and confident in who we are, and when we have a strong support network around us, we can flourish and grow regardless of the challenges that come our way. This idea is tied to the concept of “antifragility,” which is a property of systems in which they increase in capability to thrive as a result of stressors, shocks, volatility, noise, mistakes, faults, attacks, or failures. The element of antifragility is essential in allowing young people to move through life’s stressors while staying grounded in the knowledge that they are valued and inherently capable of resilience.

Philosophy of Hope IV is an unforgettable concert that combines extraordinary musicians into one band that will use its collective voice to celebrate life’s ups and downs. Showcasing inspiring songs crafted by singer-songwriter-author Ken Baxter as well as new arrangements of memorable songs from the past, we will go on a musical journey to remind us of our resiliency.

Join Ken Baxter and other noted musicians as they send a powerful message that together we can improve our collective well-being and strengthen our antifragility.

With the effects of the pandemic still impacting our daily lives and the issues of social justice that we as a nation are facing, many Americans are feeling increased levels of stress and anxiety. Through innovative programming, the Jana Marie Foundation continues to provide vital programs and resources to young people and caring adults in our community to help strengthen antifragility, grow confidence, provide practical tools and techniques to overcome adversity, and educate about mental health and wellness. It is our dream that young people grow their resiliency and support networks to help them be true to themselves through their thoughts, words, and actions.

On Thursday, September 22, 2022 at 7 pm, the Jana Marie Foundation will host its fourth annual Philosophy of Hope concert at the State Theatre to spread hope throughout our community. This event will showcase inspiring songs crafted by singer-songwriter-author Ken Baxter as well as new arrangements of memorable songs from the past. This is not just a concert. It is a powerful show with a message: Together, we can improve our collective well-being and strengthen our antifragility.

Through music and storytelling, Ken and other noted musicians will take us on an emotional, musical journey to remind us our resiliency.
