A Wellness Forum for Young People

Jana Marie Foundation’s Embrace! program provides young people across Centre County an opportunity to build personal strength and self-confidence through a fun and interactive day.

Drawing on the expertise of Jana Marie Foundation’s staff and special guests, the day’s program features a range of topics including enhancing self-confidence, learning team-building skills, and exploring creative expression through art projects & hand-on games. Our Embrace program is entirely free to attend!

Purpose:

Build personal strength and self-confidence to help combat the stresses of today’s high-pressure society.

 

Objectives:

  1. Increase self-confidence and self-awareness
  2. Encourage open and honest communication and boundary-setting to help people create stronger relationships with family, friends, and personal networks
  3. Provide opportunities for personal development through creative expression
  4. Strengthen personal identity through a focus on knowing, appreciating, and developing oneself

Sample Agenda (from Spring 2023):

  • 8:45-9:00am: Registration
  • 9:00-10:00am: Team Building with Joe
  • 10:00-10:40am: Breakout Session 1- Comic Creation with Christine
  • 10:40-11:40am: Group Drum Circle with Melanie & Christine
  • 11:40-12:20pm: Breakout Session 2- Poured Paint with Marisa & Joe
  • 12:20-12:50pm: Lunch (provided by JMF)
  • 12:50pm-1:00pm: Group Mindfulness Reflection with Joe
  • 1:00pm – 1:30pm: Breakout session 3- Mural Painting with Hannah
  • 1:30pm – 2:30pm: Wrap-Up Activity
